Hello all

I am looking for trails within an hour or two from Fresno. I am also looking for some one or a group of people that will let me tag along. I just moved here from northern Michigan this summer and not driving off road is starting to get to me. I have a 04 stock Explorer that I am not affraid of getting dirty.

New to the area and looking for some trails. I am used to snow and mud so the sand and rocks are new to me. I would like to run with someone who knows the area.

Well i have lived in cali all my life i grew up in Pismo and know the dunes like the back of my hand. I have been going to the mountans here since i was like 5-6 years old i think. Lets go out and do a little wheelin it sound like fun.

I need to get a couple of things done to my truck. I will be up for some trips after next weekend. for a couple of hours or a day sounds good to me

Only thing open now is Bald mountain. It may or may not have some snow on it now. Lots of trails up there if you know you right people.

Were can I find info on Bald mountain?

The ranger station is up off of 168 in prather. It is about 30-45 up the 168 from herndon ave. There are about 10 other trails as well except they are usually closed by now due to snow. Dont have a number for the ranger station though. I might try to run up to bald mountain around cristmas cause I will be in fresno then. We will be taing my girlfriends cj7. If you are looking for 4wd clubs in the area there are a few. There is fresno 4wd probably the largest. They open most of the trails in the spring after the snow melt. There is also Clovis indipendents. They are a pretty roudy group from what I have seen. A smaller club is the Mountain toppers. They are family based and put a run on every year the week after mothers day. I am partial to mountain toppers because Tracys dad is a member there and I knw most of them and have wheeled alot of them as well. If you would like contact info send me a PM and I will get you in contact with them.

I normally go to Mariposa areas here. There is a place call "Hitch Cove" where it will take you down to the Merced River. It is awesome sight! Its great place to do some camping and fishing at the river. I 've been there a few times but more interested in the deer hunting.

Another Ranger here..
