'98 XLT SOHC
It might just be, but the rear end seems to be a little "sloshy" It not as responsive as it was a couple of months ago. At first i figured the tires were low and they were a little but a filled 'em up and the problem is still there! Could this be the shocks or anything like that?

Any input is appreciated.

its entirely possible that it could be shocks. That would be my guess.

Maybe...anti-sway bar?

SanDiegoExplr- Would the shocks already be dead on a 98?

SSIKORA- The anti-sway bar is hollow in the rear on the 98+ models correct, but solid in the front?

Anyone else?

how many miles on it?

its completely possible. It depends on where you drive and the way you drive...

43,000 miles and I've only have the eX about 6 months

Maybe a figment of your imagination??

J/K...don't know off hand what else it could be.

I have a 98 XLT also with 50K on it. I dont seem to have any problems but I do know that mine was driven very nice by the previous owner. They didn't beat it at all. Like SanDiego said, it depends on how its been driven and where its been driven.

No, it is hollow on the front of the '95-'97 but a large diameter. The fronts on the '98 and up is solid, but a smaller diameter (still stiffer though). The rear on all of the '95 and up is the same, thin, solid bar. Aftermarket rears are a little thicker to stiffen it up.

Could be the shocks. Mine were replaced ~35K miles, along with the rear bar and links/bushings I believe. Truck would clunk everytime I hit a bump. I'd check to make sure the links aren't broken. They are known to break up front (there is a recall), and the symptoms are the same. Possible you coulda broken the back ones...
