Hey, gang! Wanted to share this with you......
4 months ago, I went to an exhaust shop, and had a Flowmaster and a tip put on my Explorer. This was bad decision. For one, the Flowmaster was way too loud, but I willing to cope with it until......the Flowmaster broke a baffle and began rattling. So, I decided that I would just man up, and replace the muffler myself, along with the crappy tip the guy installed. When I looked under it, I just about came unglued. Here's the parts I removed this morning:
Great quality, right?
So, once I saw that, popped for the Magnaflow catback and installed that today -
I paid $325 for the 50 series Flowmaster and tip installed, and paid $500 for the Magnaflow full catback. I can tell you the Magnaflow is worlds better in sound, not to mention quality. It may cost a little bit more up front, but had I known that the shop was going to do work this bad, it would not have been a tough call.
Hopefully I will have a sound clip soon, I'm also doing some other work to the Explorer right now....the alternator began squeaking, so I am replacing the alternator, the tensioner, and one idler pulley that seemed sketchy, and should have it all back together tomorrow.
