Soon to be Explorer owner....few ?'s

Hello eveyone . Long time FORD guy here but will be purchasing my first explorer soon . I have owned FORDS all my life , Mostly Mustangs . My current stang is a 2001 SVT Cobra . Modded to the hilt running 13.20's on street tires . Sad to say I have to part with her . Bought a new home and just have to make a few sacrifices .


What year explorers are the best to mod? I definately want a 5.0 . I will be adding suspension (lowered) , exhaust , a few appearance mods and definately a supercharger .

Where is the best place to buy parts?
Anything I should look out for when buying a new explorer , any common problems?

so lowering it... i guess you are eitehr looking for a 2wd or an awd..... i would start out with the 2wd if thats your goal, so you dont have to try and convert it to 2wd later if its going to be a street truck... might want to check out expo5.0 also look around in the sport truck forum. welcome to the site
