Howdy,

Every time I shut off the 4.0 SOHC in my '02, it makes a distinct hissing noise for about 5 seconds. It is most definitely audible from outside all around the truck and barely, but still audible from within. I've noticed this noise for about a year now, just never thought much of it.

Other than that the truck has good acceleration and idles fine (except some times the engine sends a surging vibration through the brake peddle when sitting at a light which I can feel through my foot. The body of the truck does not vibrate though.

I moved the camera around in the video so you could hear the engine from different places. I don't hear any hissing while the engine is running.

I'm not asking for you to determine where the leak is, just if this sound normal after engine shut off. Thanks.

not sure, but could it be the A/C? my jeep does the same thing, never listened to the ford.

no, AC is off, haven't had in on in at least a couple weeks, jrford, does you ex hiss too after you shut it off?

oh, you have a different engine...
