Sound System questions.

Hey all, trying to figure out what i should do about my sound system, and think im gonna do this tomorow so some people reply please hehe!

okay, i got a budget of around 800 dollars for a system (my goal is to be around 800, not more hehe) and dont know where i should go. went to best buy today and budgeted out a system for about 830, 4 6x8 pioneer 4 ways, 2 DUAL 12-inch subs in a plexiglass box thing with neons (1100 watts i think?), 800W pioneer amp, and a DUAL deck. good or bad or what hehe? i dont know too much about car audio.

i also looked on ebay for stuff, and prices are looking good, like 2 500watt audiobahn subs and a box for 120 bucks. are those kind of bids trustworthy? anyone buy off ebay?

Don't buy at Worse buy you would be better buying from Crutchfield or Car Domain or a local audio store but not Worse Buy! they are a major chain and will mostly nickel and dime ya. 2nd Don't buy the DUAL brand its cheap! there Headunits aren't TOO bad but still bad. 3rd Don't buy the Audiobahn / Amp / Box deals from ebay! those sound like **** my friend got one and it sounded horrible. The thing you have to watch out for on ebay is most the stuff has no warrenty. Right now car domain is having a buy 1 get 1 free on kicker subs 1 12' kicker comp cost 89$ so you get 2 decent 12's for 89$ which will kick the **** outta those dual's. They have decent prices on the head units also plus they come with tons of free stuff like wiring harness and install kits. Speakers are also fairly priced but the chose is up to you.

those buy one get one free kicker subs have a peak of 300W, isnt it better to have higher wattage?

Sure if you want it, just look for a higher watt amp. That 800 watt amp should do fine if not buy a higher watt amp.

no i mean the subs hehe, they have a peak power of 300 watts, doesnt that mean a stronger amp wont do jack? or blow something out possibly?
