I had a right rear tire blow out at 75mph and somehow it bent the rim ever so slightly. Can I use the spare tire rim as a permanent substitute? How do you replace the chrome from the bad rim or do you replace the whole thing? Best place to find a reasonable replacement? What would be the best approach here? I have a 98 Ranger XLT 4.0 automatic. Thank you.

...slow down, lol...your local tire shop would have an answer if your wheel was suitable or not...if you are having doubts replace it...better safe than sorry...if you look on your local craigslist wheels for rangers go pretty cheap...that or the junkyard, but some of them want retail for an oem wheel...i hope this helps...:D

Spare

If it's only a slight bend and doesn't shake like crazy it should be fine as a spare.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a new wheel than to have it straightened, If it's not a alloy wheel.
