Spare Tire Stuck

My spare tire won't drop down, any tips on releasing it would be helpful

ok how do u mean stuck? does the crank not drop the cable? is it actually the tire stuck while the cable is let out?

when I crank the handle the tire does not drop but the handle turns, maybe its the cable

how much have u cranked? is there any movement in the cable? are u sure ur going the right direction?
if so crank like 10 times to the left and then kick the tire, that will probably work.

Take a hammer to it - just remember that hitting rubber/a tire will cause the hammer to kick back.

This happend to a friend of mine, he could not drop the spare cranked like hell to drop it down, no go.
I go over, crawl under the EX, the previous owner had installed a tirelock (DUH)

I had the same problem...so I put the rig on ramps and did a few pull-ups on the spare. The cable finally broke...and now I have much needed ground clearance!
