I have an 07 XLT 4.0L V6. It runs great, except for a persistent spark knock when I accelerate - especially when passing on the highway.

Does anyone know of any applicable service bulletins?

Thanks,
Ric

In order of probablility:
1. Go to the dealer and get the computer reflashed.
2. Is this the time of year when they have oxygenated gas where you live?
3. The EGR valve is malfunctioning.

Thanks for your help . . .

. . . I'll certainly try those things.

clean the airflow meter

Are you sure it is spark knock? And not the timing chain. My 06' 4.0L marks a spark knock sound under acceleration but only between 2500-3200 RPM. anything above or below there is no noise.

There was a TSB out for the 2000 and 2001 explorers for this same exact noise. And they state that its a problem with the primary timing chain and tensioners.
