- 1999 Explorer Sport
I know that this was a big topic about a year ago. I read through and got a lot of information but just not what I am looking for. My 99' Explorer Sport has 62k miles. I bought it used and have had it about a month and haven't put many miles on it. It is in very good condition but it has a slight hesitation at low rpms. I have been told that if it has the original plugs and wires in it that it would probally fix the problem if I changed them. Well it has the original plugs and wires. I figure that I should go ahead and replace them. I have been looking around and reading and have found about a few brands like Bosch, Motorcraft, and Autolite. I have heard that going with Bosch is a toss up because some have good luck and some do not. I kind of what to go with some other brand then Motorcraft because they are stock. I went to Autozone and they pushed the Autolites. I am basically looking for a good plug with performance, fuel economy, and reliability. I don't want to have to pull the plugs and change them after 10k because they are bad. I am willing to spend the money to get a very good plug for the application. I would like to have a good brand of plug and wire recommendation. Is it better to get the same plug and wire brand? Give me some information.
