Hey, I haven't had new plugs for at least 50k miles (if ever), and never had new wires. I hear I'd get better mileage with some special plugs (iridium?) and thicker wires, is this true? How hard is it to change the plugs? The wires look simple but some of the plugs look hard to get to. Do you guys recommend I change the plugs and wires? I've got 87k miles...

I'd get new motorcraft wires and plugs. Keep some plugs and one or two of your old long plug wires for spares :)

Yup, Motorcraft double plats and Motorcraft wires.

Do you recommend I do it myself? I helped a friend change their Camaro wires and a couple were impossible to get to. The wires on the X look simple enough but not sure about the plugs. All wires are universal, right? Where do you recommend I get this stuff from? AND, any specific thickness for the wires? Thanks!

The Motorcraft wires will be 8mm and will be specific for your truck and motor.

Plugs and wires are easy for some, not for others. Have some swivel sockets and maybe go in from the wheelwell for some.

EDIT: You could order it all from www.fordpartsnetwork.com
