I'm about to replace spark plugs on the wife's 2010 STA. Are the 2010 STA have the two piece design spark plugs or the one piece?

I'm thinking of replacing them BUT I need to get the spark plug removal tool if they have two piece design.

You're safe! 2009-10 are the single piece design. All 2007-08 3V engines built BEFORE 11/30/07 are the dreaded two piece plugs.

Thanks for the tip!

I'll post my findings in a day or two.

You should have no issues. My 08ST's plugs came out fairly clean without battle. Good luck.

Couldn't see the brown boots but the 8L3E part number on them. It looks like I'm good to go.

Do I need to apply pb blaster after turning an inch on the plug?

Wouldn't hurt, but not necessary. DO blow compressed air around the plug and block every few turns.

Highly recommend using a VERY light coating of copper anti seize on the threads. $1.49 pocket pack.

Quick Update:

I was able to change spark plugs with no problems. I didn't have a 14mm spark plug socket but was able to remove them with a regular socket. I changed Air filter and top-up power steering fluid while I was at it. Looking forward for a problem-free drive to Florida this Novmber.

It's would've cost me at least $200 labour to replace spark plugs.

A BIG thanks for the forum and for those who have contributed!
