i'm looking at either the 9811 or 9813 alpine HU. i know the 9813 has 60 x 4 instead of 50 but only a 4 watt diff in RMS. I also know the 9813 has the 5 band equalizer. As far as I know, those are bascially the only differences, anyone have an opinion on which one to get? My other question is on a recommendation for 6x8/5x7 speakers. I want them to sound good! I was looking at the Pioneer REV's (680r) i believe, but they were going to require an external amp. Bascially im trying to decide if I should spend less on the HU, get the 9811, get an amp and speakers, or get some speakrs that don't REQUIRE an external amp that will still sound good. thanks for the help guys.

Go with the 9813. You will need a small amp kit with that radio. Alipne and infinity sound nice with just the radio plus with 27wrms you'll be ahead of the game. You should put the HPF on tho to help keep them from distorting.

Whats the budget for the speakers?

what is hpf? um budget maybe $150 online....i saw i can the the pioneer ts-d680r's for $90 online and i've heard they are really good. i notice they do take 60 watts instead for 50...so should JUST the alpine unit be good or do they really require more power? thanks
any other speaker recommendations are great
thanks again

High Pass Filter; Only lets frequencys pass that are above what you set it at. For instance if you set it at 80hz the speakers will not play the bass below 80hz which will keep them sounding good. Some speakers can handle being hpf'd at 50 or 60hz.

Look at the CL 61a near the bottom of the page.

In my opinion, the 9813 is the little brother of the 9815, I haven't see the 9811, but your choose depends of your budget.... low= 9811 , mid= 9813 , high=9815. I'd get the 9813 !!, the difference between the 9813 and the 9815 is the display.

About the speakers, I have the Pioneer 4 bias (blue cone), they sound really good, they don't have bad vibration when you do an emphasis to the bass.

I have seen those pioneers but i haven't heard them to comment on them. For the money pioneer is hard to beat hands down.
