speaker Sizes

I was wondering what size speakers are behind the doors of my 94 4dr XLT. I have pulled the rear door panels off, but i don't know if the front has 5x7's also.

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

No it is 6x8s this is what I have all around. Both will fit but the 6x8 sound better than the 5x7 I did have in my Navajo...

I used 5x7 120 watt 3 way speakers from
Kenwood and they sound just find to me.
My old system was the jbl from Ford and the
door speakers where in speaker cup I just
reused them. To me they sound great.
But that my opion!!

I am not saying the 5x7 will not fit. If you bought a set of 5x7" and a set of 6x8" same brand name put them in the same type of car. What do you think will sound better? Keep in mind when you buy a set of 6x8" it will most likely be able to handle more watts. I noticed a difference...

the stock speakers are 6x8's I just replaced mine with 5 1/4" MB Quarts, damn do they sound good. A good deal too at $130 a pair.

5X7s and 6X8s are usually the same size speaker. Most audio companies sell the same size as both.

Not pioneer and mtx(there might be more I just know those off the top of my head). Those to companys make true 6x8" along with there 5x7" size.
