Speed Control/Amplifier Assembly replacement?

HELP!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

95 XLT

Well the truck will scoot along just fine then the speedo will drop to 0-10 and the truck starts to slow like it's going to stall and will then kick in and go back to just fine. Random, but very consistant. Tranny shop had it for 4 days (didnt realize it was Friday) and this is their conclusion. They rebuilt the tranny a few months ago so assumptions was it was a problem with that and since it has a warranty....

Does this sound remotely correct? I am in a desperate situation. Owner of the truck is single mom who needs the truck for her job and no running truck mean she will loose her job.

And I just got off the phone with the shop and they said simple terms, the speedo is getting no signal from the computer.


If anyone can give me guidance on what to look for as the culprit I would appreciate it greatly!!!
