I have a 2010 Explorer XLT with 63k miles. Sometimes, when I use the speed control, it will work fine until I hit the break pedal or shut it off. Then when I try to turn it back on, it won't. None of the speed controls on the steering will function. Not until the vehicle is turned off will it reset. Other times it works just fine. I've been trying to determine under any particular circumstances this occurs, but I can't find a common denominator. I have no idea! Any help would be appreciated.

This might be related to your "brake lights" post if in fact your brake lights are staying lit up and not just your running lights at night.

Hi jahribar,

Make an appointment at your dealership so they can take a look; they'll be in the best position to diagnose and repair this for you. Be sure to circle back and let us know how things go; I'll be here if you have any other questions or concerns.

It is your cruise deactivator switch. I have a video coming out tonight on how to diagnose and replace.

Is this video already online?

Thank you for the video.
Does the 2006 Explorer also have a cruise deactivator switch?
I cannot find any information where it could be located or where to buy one.
Also no information or part number to find in the workshop manual.
