Speed sensor

Hi I have a 96 Explorer, 4x2, my 4WD light flashes when i'm in 4WD. I've read a few forums and came up that it might be my speed sensor. Where is it located on my explorer? And can anyone post a pic of the location or of the sensor, so when i do replace it i know what it looks like and where it goes. I'm also having my trans rebuilt, do you think the shop will replace this sensor as well. Thank you.

If you're having your transmission rebuilt just tell them to replace the VSS I highly doubt it will be included in the rebuild.
