My '94 XLTs speedometer jumps around constantly when I drive. It rarely stays still even at a constant speed. Is there anyway to fix this without it costingmuch or doing it myself. My dad insists that it'l cost a couple hundred dollers to fix, but I think he's exaggerating a lil. Any help would me appreciated :) .

Cool, thanx bud! :D So it's prolly the speedo head that needs replaced? Cuz mine makes winding and lil vibration noises back behind it..

You will probably want to try greesing the cable first. It didn't work for me, but it is a lot cheaper than replacing the speedo head. The problem is that you can't do it from the transmission. You have to take the dash apart and do it from there. It isn't terribly hard but it does take some time if you've never done it before. Just make sure you have a manual to help you through it. If you do have to buy a new head, I would buy one from a junk yard as the new ones are $550-600. I bought one from a junk yard for $75 and took it apart and put the new speedo on my old odometer so my milage wouldn't be messed up. Good luck,

Mike
