speedometer stops working when driving

Ok i search to forum about this and though i found a solution, add i change the speed sensor. Today i test it out and when i was on the freeway speedometer just drop to zero. When the speedometer drop to zero the odometer stop too. so i dont know what else i can try.

Have you check the fuse box yet? You may have to remove the cluster and check and see if the spedo has come apart. Once you remove the cluster from the dash you will have to take the cluster apart and remove the center portion that houses the spedo and once you have it out you should be able to see if it has come apart.

If spedo is driven by a cable, then it's either the cable itself, an end has come loose, or the spedo in the instrument cluster.

If spedo is run "by wire", then i would be checking the wire from the trans to the cluster for a loose connection or a high open in the wire. Hope this helps!!

Ok i just finish taking apart the instrument cluster and check everything and didn't find anything that look broken and there was no cable connect to it. So i don't know what else to check i look the some fuse and they seen ok.

had the same problem my diag toll registers speed while driving so up to that point in electrical works i took a chance at replacing gauge cluster after cleanig/wiggling all elec harness conections gauges solved it !
