Sport trac Duelie

I see the point your trying to make, and I'm not trying to offend or step on anyones toes. I just dont think that a ST is gonna be much for towing which is normally what a duelie is for. 4.0v6.
There are different levels of offroading, the set up I had on the ex was perfect for what I took it through. The BWM was for gas mileage so not sure where you were going with that.
I think what you have done to your ST is more useful than the duelie concept.
But ultimately yes, to each his own. Entertaining to look at though...

Many of us are being impractical and crazy with our Explorers. Ford never intended them to be off road monsters. Many other vehicles are better designed for such purposes like Toyota Landcruisers. But I fell in love with the Sport Trac and I wanted to go off road, so I made it work. And I've had a lot of fun and met some really great people.

Well yea as long as he likes it I'm cool. It is his. I guess my point of it all is that having 4 tires and beefier axle in the rear will hold more than the engine and tranny can.
But I dont want to deter anyone! Build it! It is interesting to see someone do something unique!

Yo GUYS I havnt been on in FOREVER and times are ROUGH... so the ST has unfortunately been sitting on the back burner..... which in turn makes me a miserable ####### to everyone in life LOL... ..... till i can fix my blown trans.... 1st is gone... AGAIN.... YAY... BUt here i am at a friends house and showing him the only pics of my truck online.... and i come up on this convo goin about this guy talkin smack.... about my MOTHA F'n SPORT TRAC!!!!!! normally i would b pissed... but then i read these responses from a whole buncha guys i met online WHO GOT MY BACK.... AND OWN SPORT TRAC's FOR THE SAME REASON I DO.... TO ENJOY THEM CUZ WE DO WHAT WE LOVE WITH THEM!!!! and thank you guys! for havin my back! pleeeze friend request me on this forum so we can all figure out an ST meet or somethin.. or at least bullshit online lol.

PS......... JUTGIN i used to rock 35 x 14.5's all the way around on the ST.. and tore it up with the big boys in the dirt and trails.... But i wanted to do some thing that no body had seen before. And if had to b through a bet.. watever.. I love my ST... and wen i DIE ... the fluids will b drained out of the ST......and a back hoe will dig a hole.... and i will b buried in that MOTHA!!!!!

I think its time for a manual tranny. The POS 5r55e isn't going to cut it with big tires, especially 6.
