I am getting ready to toss out my Sport single leaf springs, and put in 4-door leaf springs. Hopefully get that ugly rear sag to go away.

Any way the folks at the junkyard were askin' what my spring code is.

Since I am doin' a swap does it matter?

If it does matter what should my spring code be?

Thanks folks !!

Okay, can some one at least point me in the right direction as to which leaf springs to go with?

I'm doing the same as you, and wondered the same thing. I was planning on just getting some 4-dr springs from a 97 at the junkyard. (I don't know what the code is). No, it doesn't matter what your spring code should be, because that would tell you you need another mono-leaf, which you don't want.

Right ! So any guesses which spring code is best?

I had an "F" on my V8. That's all I know. :D

With out any lift or modifications was it a nice higth and relitivly stout ?

It was stout, yeah. As far as height...

Here it is stock with 31's

Now that I think about it, since my truck came from the factory 2WD, it probably didn't have the beefiest spring available.

Well it is level and that is what I am after.

Thanks man.

I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

I'll keep you posted.

I talked to the guy at the junkyard, and his computer says there are three codes for the 4-dr: F, H, L. F being stiffest, L softest. Then I went to the used car lot and looked at some explorers (99, 96, 97, all 6 cyl) and they all had F springs. Oh, the junkyard wants $50 each for the springs. Is that a good price?

Way to go Gonzo !!!!
Yeah $50.00 is what my local salvage yard is asking too.
I guess it is F firm I guess.
I'll be getting mine next week. Putting them on,,,,,,,,,, some time I guess.

My springs code says UT on my 94 4 door 4x4 XLT. Its for a tow package.

If you get any springs from a junkyard, just get the newest you can find that have 4 leafs. The dealer only wants around 150 for a brand new set, might want to try that also

Really? I went to the dealer, and they wanted something like $200 EA! But I asked for 98. Maybe I should ask for 94?
