Spring Codes

Does anyone know which explorer had the stiffest coil springs in 1993? If possible I'd like to know the spring code for it and the others as well. Thanks

Code B is the stiffest.

Which model did that come on, or was it available on any model?

Any model that has torsion bars.

Example part numbers for the bars look like this:

F572*5B326A
F572*5B327A

The B signifies the code; B,D or L. L is the softest.

If you want D bars, then it would be:

F572*5D326A
F572*5D327A

I believe these example numbers are for a '91.

He doesn't have torsion bars

Only '95 and later Explorers have torsion bars. He has a totally different coil spring setup. None of those letter ratings or part numbers apply to him.

His 93 doesn't have torsion bars. That was 95+. Also he said "...stiffest coil springs in 1993..."

Well anyways, you get the idea EddieBauer. Talk with your local Ford Parts guy and look up the part numbers. Look for the letter code B,D or L.
