I have a 99 explorer xlt v6 with 90k miles on it. I bought it at 75k miles from a sailor in the navy who used to keep it in storage whenever he was deployed on a tour, so it's got low miles for it's age.
It has an unusually rough ride to it, especially when I go over a bump or hit a pothole. Even over speed bumps at 5 miles an hour it seems like I bottom out the truck.
I had the shocks replaced at 80k miles, with the stock ford shocks for the make and model from the dealership. It didn't really seem to help much.
Is there a chance my springs need some work? I'm relatively clueless when it comes to cars, so I'd like to know if I need stronger springs, or to have them replaced before I head out to get them fixed. Thanks
