Recently a leak has started on my 2000 mountaineer 5.0 that wasnt there at all before. While simply tightening a clamp MAY fix the issue. I want to show you guys what I see, in case something else may be occurring. Perhaps a plugged cooler or crimped line?

Hidden out of view in this shot is the leaking line off the cooler. The other line is in plain sight in the center of the photo, and has no signs of leaking. FIRST I am unaware of which cooler this is for. I think its the transmission, but could be wrong.

Heres a view below the radiator where the two lines come together and attach to the hard lines:

That is unfortunately the best pics I have. Any input would be great.

Transmission cooler is correct. You can try tightening the clamps, if they are already tight I would replace the hose and clamps. That hose is not the same as fuel line, it's for a higher temperature fluid.

Try cutting the end off and putting it back on. Sometime the ends begin to split and leak.

BTW you should be posting in the 95-01 section.

I thought I was in the 95-01...clearly I cant click on the right stuff. My mistake!

If it has enough line I will try cutting the line and re-tightening. Hopefully not a lot of fluid will come out of there.

It does look like the clamps are both fairly loose on the hoses, it could just be that they are hanging on there from the hose tension and the bump on the inlet/outlet.

You want to be sure not to overtighten the clamps though, if you do they will cut into the hose and you'll get a different kind of leak.
