has anyone else had this happen..when I start my 95 now. every time i hear what sounds like a combination of a squeal and a squeak for about 3 seconds and i can not figure out what it could be...
on my 1998 windstar just had to replace the camshaft position sensor. which kinda made the same noise until it completely broke...

kinda bugging me as i am not sure what it is and if it is something that needs immediate attention...

what have you done to tackle the problem so far?

what kind of motor is it? OHV?

Pullies? maybe bad bearing on the pully system?

TAKE A CAN OF WD-40 WITH engine off spray the accy. drive belt don't need to soak it however just a lite coat will be fine. start it up if the noise changed from the procedure check your battery it might be failing on you. must use a load tester to actually check it properly. reason being is over night the battery is still being drained slightly by clock /radio etc. now when you start it in morning the alternator is really working {too hard} to revive the battery causing it to squeak the belt in its efforts to produce enough battery voltage..
