I've just started hearing a squeaky sound that seems associated with the drivetrain (noise comes and goes while moving). There is also a slight clanging sound. Both sounds seem to becoming from under the truck somewhere, but I'm having trouble pinpointing front/back or left/right. I checked and replaced one hub assembly, the other seems fine (no play). I replaced one bad tie rod end too. Any other contenders? Is it possible it could be the drive shaft? There is some play in the front one before the diff.

A bad ujoint usually is accompanied by a squeak as it rotates. Normally once you do fast enough it goes away. Best to get it done before it goes.

Well I've now replaced a bad wheel hub assembly on the driver's side, a bad tie rod end on the drivers side, a bad upper ball joint on the passenger side and the U-joint and CV joint on the intermediate axle. I also greased up all the other ball joints. The squeaking still has not gone away.

Problem solved - turned out to be the rear ujoint on the rear drive shaft.
