Hello forum,
I was noticing my explorer every time I go in a high drive way or to my car port the interior squeeks. Kind of like if it was an old wooden house when turning onto something that is in the incline.

Can I fix this or was this how the explorere sounds from new?

I just bought it about 3 months ago and it was already like that. Its a 1996 eddie bauer 4.0 ohv 4x4.

My car is pretty clean and i dont see any plastic that is broken or loose:navajo:.

Let me know :)

My Ex's always did this, it was like a flexing/creaking when going into a driveway, uneven pavement, sometimes on the right bumps. I went throught he looking for loose stuff, checking and lubing weatherstripping, and then figured it out- striker bushings.

A lot of the time the bushings on the door strikers age and leave enough room to not hold the doors tight. I had the same noises on both of my Ex's, on the first it was a squeaky hatch caused by a bad hatch latch bushing, and my newest one was a bad driver's side latch bushing. They can look fine, not be loose, etc., but they wear and need to be replaced.

The hatch bushings are sold in 4-packs in the "help!" section of your auto parts store, the door latch bushings are a different size- the entire assembly is also sold in the "help!" section as well.

here is the door latch striker:

You may or may not be able to find them cheaper, I just linkes to those listings on the Autozone website. I replaced all 4 of my door latches and the hatch bushings, and she's nice and quiet now.
