Hello everyone,

I have a 99 4x4 explorer 4'' Suspension lift + 3" body lift with 33x12.5 mickey thompsons baja claws, 10 inch rims. Ever since i lifted the explorer i have had this squeeky noise coming from the front of the explorer. I took it back to the place that lifted my truck and they could not find the source of the squeek. They said first it was the drive shaft, so they oiled it and the squeek was still there. They still cannot find the problem. Anyone else had this problem?? Also, is there a book out there about basic 4x4 problems for idiots like me? I guess i lifted it and me nor my husband know's much about anything about lifted trucks!!! Need help fast!!!!! Also, my explorer seems to keep losing power. We checked everything, did diagnostics and fixed everything, but still doesnt have the same kick!!!

MDX,

Does your X have run boards if so...tighten all the nuts..funnily enough i had a squeek that "was coming from the front" and it was a nut on the run boards that was loose...if you dont have run boards im out of ideas on your squeek

wow i dunno whats wrong with your truck, but i wanna see some pictures of it!!!

I do have running boards and i will tighten it up and let you know the results!! Thanks so much for your help!

Ok, Scapegoat once i can get to my sister in laws to scan i will send you a picture and put it on the board!

Ya I wanna see it too!!!!!:) And Welcome!!!!!

loss of power

just to let you know being about 6in higher and running 33x12.5 is going to kill your power a little because of the size and weight of new tires and also its higher off the ground hope everything works out

i have a 2000 mountaineer with the same set up 4" susp., 3" body, 33x12.50 nitto mud grapplers. and i just now developed a squeek in my front passenger side. i havnt had time to really ivestigate it. i did a quick glance everything looked ok. i have everything new in my front end except cv axels. so that is what i am gona check on mine. thats the only thing that makes sense to me, since everything else is new. i will let you know what i find out.

did you guys have to cut your fenders down to clear the tires? mine rub lock to lock

SQUEAK

anyway, what kind of front drive shaft are you running? Stock or the one recommended for the lift?

i have the stock shaft at moment. i was gona get the superlift shaft but the price made me go with the 4406 t case swap. for a little more money i will have true 4x4 insteade of awd. got a deal on a case for $150. now i just got to get ahold of the drive shafts.

It could be your driveshaft if it fluctuates with speed, since you are running the stock one.
