I have a 1994 Mazda B4000 extended cab 4-wd pick up, (Ranger clone). This truck has developed a squeeling noise in 4 wheel drive. The noise sounds like a dry bearing and is not constant, but occurs each time something rotating in the front end or transfer case makes a revolution. I had the fluid in the front differential changed and the transfer case. The transfer case fluid was a little dirty but felt ok. The gear lube had something in it, probably water. I did not get to see the material. At any rate, when you engage the auto hubs and drive in two wheel drive the noise is still there. When you release the hubs in 2-wheel, no noise. I have had the front bearings serviced and have had one bearing replaced;I know what that sounds like. Anybody got any ideas? It has to be either the transfer case or something in the front differential. I am stumped, any insight will be greatly appreciated.
