Every year a squirrel builds a nest in my engine. It's a 2000 Explorer with a 5.0 engine. It chewed the wires for the high pressure side and the low pressure side. I don't like spending a few hundred to fix it every year and am doing it on my own.

I fixed the high side, but the low is chewed almost to the connection. I searched switches and found one, but it has 4 wires and the old one had 2. How can I make that work?

Also, the air is only blowing out the defrost vents and the backseat vents. There is a gray plastic line running into the dash just above and to the right of the blower motor. That's the vacuum line, correct? It has a break in it. I bought some heat sealing patches (for lack of a better term). If I cut the lines cleanly so they fit the patches should hold, right?
