squirrel ate my temp sensor wires

1998 Limited,5L.....ok got a hi and low code P117 on the temp sensor on my scanner...looked and so the wires are almost gone from the sensor to the harness. this could not be in a worse place....cant even fit my hand in....can i re wire up the sensor conector? and how? also I guess I need too cut back the harness to access good wires...there looks like there are 2 wires? any help will be appreciated

Just did this on my buddy's Dodge. Plus they made a nest in his air filter housing.

Just cut out the bad part, strip the wire housing back a little, and solder in a new section. Re-tape the harness and you should be good to go.
