SRS replacement bulb?

Ok, so my "new" Explorer (2001 XLS) needs some TLC. I got the 5 chimes on startup and read through the forums (you guys are great btw) and I need to replace the SRS bulb. I found how to's on replacing the bulbs, i just dont know which bulb i need to get. I looked on rockauto.com and found the GE194 bulbs are the most common, but haven't found anything specific for the SRS light. Is this the right one or is it a different bulb, id hate to tear the dash out and find out i got the wrong replacement bulb.

Probably a 194 but pick up a 161 also, just return or keep what you do not need. Best wishes.

194's are for illumination; the "idiot light" bulbs are #161.

awesome! thanks, i think ill tear it apart when i get home next week. I was thinking of changing out all the light bulbs in there since im gonna have it torn apart. any idea how many of each bulb are behind there?

There are 6 #194 bulbs for illumination. There are a bunch of the #161 bulbs for all of the warning, etc lights. You might want to consider changing the turn signal indicators. Most of the rest don't light that often so I'm not sure it's worth replacing all those. (I did have to replace the "Check Engine" bulb when it went out in order to pass inspection.)

My beeping truck with it's worn out SRS light is about to "Shut the f*** up Donnie" as they say in the Big Lebowski. It feels like every 20 minutes it's reminding me that the airbag is compromised. ahhh. I remember only lap belts..... no stupid buzzing back then.

Anyway, thank you to everyone on this board that shares info and pictures about their Explorers. My Eddie Bauer's dash will be a light brighter this weekend... and hopefully driving will be far quieter!
