ST compatibility question?

What this sport trac is is cofusing the **** outta me. I know it's an explorer front but rear is it's own?

I found a full grill guard from a '96 explorer, guys asking $80. Is this thing compatible for an 04?

I'm sorry for sounding like complete newb but I cannot wrap my head around what this sport trac is beside...different!
