I'm just wondering how a 3inch body lift would effect my stability. one of the things I like about my 98 sport is how stable it is, there have been alot of times that I thought it should have rolled but didn't, and I want to make sure I won't be loosing to much of that with the lift.

by doing any kind of lift you are going to raise the CG axis above the neutral roll axis (right between where the diff's would be, i know the front is IFS, but work with me here) sorry i am studying to be a mechanichal engineer, so i might get a little to technichal. however, you could attempt to counter the effect of the lift by putting wider tires on it helping to increase stability.

has anyone that's done a lift noticed the differance? rolling is pretty much the only thing that I've realy been worried about when offroad.

after i did my bofy lift i expected it to be more tippy....but i was very wrong. i have about 3.5" of lift with 31s and it feels more stabel now then it did stock.

btw another local guy!!

I did the body lift before the suspension lift and it really wasn't that bad. I mean obviously I KNEW it was lifted - so I took it easier around corners. But now with my suspension lift, body lift, and wider wheels - I feel very comfortable and know my limitations

yeah, born and raised in anchorage, going to school in fairbanks. offroading's alot bigger up here (not realy anything else to do~)

my truck is a toyota pickup and really has around 10" of lift over stock... it isnt any mroe unstable now then it was stock, it actually feels more stable now.....

only time i feel unsafe is going 70 or 80 mph on curvy interstate roads but also i think the width and weight of the tires make it harder to steer that my only problem.... but dont miss the chance to get 3 inches...i love it...

I suggest you put wider rims/offset to help offset the extra height from the 3" lift. Give your Sport the " BullDog look"..."wide rims and tires stance".
If anyhting, it will give you some peace of mind!!!
