My 2000 Explorer sometimes stalls when I come to a stop after traveling on the interstate at interstate speeds for 30 minutes or longer. Also at idle (900 rpms) the rpms drop to 500 when the automatic transmission is put into gear. Is the rpm drop normal? Are the two problems related. I have read no OBD error codes on my code reader. Any ideas?

I would fist check the throttle body plate for carbon, or it may have a small hole in the plate and its plugged... just give a quick look over and clean it good.
maybe IAC is sticking
The EGR also provides air/gas vapour but not usually at closed throttle

RPM's seems ok, not to sure whats normal for it tho
