2002 Sport Trac
Hello to all,
I've been Having some problems with my 2002 explorer Sport Trac. When I'm driving, as soon as I begin to slow down (braking) or turn a sharp corner, the truck stalls. It then restarts right away. This may occur as often as every 2 minutes or it may not occur at all for a few days, then it comes back. I took it to the ford dealer and they put it on diagnostics and nothing showed up. They charged me over $200 for the checkup and it's still giving trouble. If anyone has had the same problem with theirs, can they pls inform me of what the problem was and how it was fixed. It would really be appreciated.

Could be a problem with the torque converter. Does it only happen when your foot comes off the gas? Does it jerk at all when it stalls?

It very well could be a torque converter problwm, but my guess would be a problem with the IAC valve. Does the truck ever make a buzzing/whining sound when it is coasting or idling that goes away when you give it gas?

sounds to me like an IAC problem considering it is relatively new. Maybe the iac is just dirty or malfunctioning. I would hope the torque converter isn't acting up allready.
How many miles are on it?
George

Sounds very much like an IAC problem to me too.

which engine do you have? 4.0L OHV or OHC?
