During the summer last year, and this year, I have been running into a progressively worse situation where the truck is now stalling out completely. It does not matter if I have been sitting in Park or Drive, it will die without a moments notice, not to mention a loud hissing noise coming from the engine.
The first thing that I did was to check the vacuum lines and found that there where some that needed minor repairs, and have since been repaired.
Then I pulled the IAC cleaned it the best I could, and then checked the resistance and it reported 9 Ohms which is well within spec (7 - 13 Ohms is Spec)
When I pulled the actuator off I blew through both sides and there was no air getting through at alll; when I put the actuator back on, it then started allowing air to pass with some resistance, but not enough to be confortable.
I then re-installed it, ran the truck in drive with the AC OFF and in Drive, and then ran it again with the AC ON and in Drive. It seemed to be better, but not enough to keep me from having to put it in neutral and give it gas.
Any ideas?
