Hey all,
Ive been having a bit of trouble with my explorer('99 4wd 4.0 SOHC Sport)
It seems when ever it is up to normal(middle of the gauge) temperature as soon as I press on the gas it bogs out and almost stalls, but as soon as I let up my foot it comes back to life. At that point it is almost impossible to drive, I have to idle every wheres until it cools down and starts running again.
I changed the fuel filter first off( it REALLY needed it, black sluge poured out of the tank side of it), but that didnt seem to make a difference. I checked my plugs/wires/ignition coil, nothing seems amiss there either.
Ive been suggested everything from the catalytic converter to the fuel pump or O2 sensors.
Im kinda at a loss of what to try next.
One thing I noticed while driving it today is that the temperature reading seems to be real funny. I was only driving it for about 5 mintes(no warm up time, sitting all night) and the needle was up to the middle of the gauge already, but then all of a sudden it jumped back down to the "C" cold mark, not sure what that means, if anything, just something I observed.
Im up for any suggestions, or tips at this point
