Since this morning when I turn the heater on...the air that comes out is having a weird smell...like if I was sniffing inside the hood.... What could this be...?
I cant't tell if it's smelling coolant...

Please Help,

Hi Francis. If your heater core is leaking a liitle bit, you will have a "sweet smell " inside. In addition there will also be a thin film of coolant on the inside of your windshield. If you do have a leak in the cooling system other than the heater core, and it leaks onto the engine and evaporates. This smell will permiate inside of the vehicle.

There was as earlier posting regarding leaves that deposit near the fan that can come into contact with an electrical part. The leaves/debris will then actually burn slowly, as they did in mine (thankfully no flames just the pleasent smell of smouldering leaves)

Check for any leaks under the hood. Hopefully there will be none. Good luck. Dead Link Removed

Hey !!!! My Explorer is doing the same thing, cept I can see the vapor of the coolant coming in thru the vents.Heater core replacement, Geez. I will go in search of that kinda help I guess. Wass hoping not to have to do that. Takes me so long. Think I can just re route the hoses till I can get it out?
Onward...into the fog...

Thank you,

I'll check for leaks under my hood.
Since yesterday the smell seems to have disapered.

I have a more urgent problem... I need to find why my truck is taking sooooooo muuuch
fuel... I'm testing everything... I will replace the o2s cause I just tested it and it wasn't good... The reading I had on the multimeter were strange... like too low...
I do about 10 mpg now and seems to be still droping... since gaz prices are that high (0.75$ cnd per liter...).......
