wife has a 99 EB, 5.0 you put the key in and it starts right up, one shot. I have a 2000 EB, 5.0 you put the key in and crank it, it turns over a few times and then catches. both trucks are well maintained I.E. FoMo plugs, air filters. I went as far as replacing the fuel filter, no luck. I am I missing something?

Not quite the same thing, but my '01 EB 5.0L with 190k had been doing something similar for about 4 years, but only when warm. It always started up immediately (maybe a 1-2 second crank) when cold, but after driving to the grocery store and letting it sit for around 30-40 mins it would take maybe 6-7 seconds of cranking before it would start. Never failed to start until this past winter. I changed the fuel pump and it now it always starts immediately hot or cold.

thank you. I was leaning to that, I need to check fuel pressure at the rail, what psi should I be looking at the rail?

With the engine running a 2000 should be around 65-70 PSI at the rail. A bit less with key ON not running (maybe 60).
