Hi, everyone, I found this great forum yesterday and did some reading and decided to do some mods on my '93 XLT, so tell me what you think. :) I did the airbox mod by removing the bottom and attaching the filter with tie wraps. I did this because it is less destructive and I can replace the airbox if needed. I'm going to rig up a quazi-CAI system this weekend. I also ported and polished my throttle body and am porting and polishing the intake manifold this afternoon. I noticed a nice growl at higher RPMs after just the mods I did last night, and a bit more acceleration in first and second. (I have a 5 speed stick, btw) I am also going to replace the stock fan with an electric fan later this month to improve sound even more. I'm getting a glass pack installed as soon as I get money from an auction on EBay, and that should sound pretty good for really cheap. :-p The only other mods are visual. I have blue LED windshield sprayer, a blue neon lighted shifter knob, blue interior/cargo lights and a 10" blue neon tube in the back. It looks pretty nice at night. What other cheap mods would you guys/gals suggest? I really want to get a chip later this summer and if funds permit, possibly a cam. Also, what would be the easiest way to drop my X? I think they look awesome when they are lowered. Thanks for reading all this and for any help/suggestions/comments/encouragment! :)

My .02....I have heard that glasspacks on explorers sound like S**T, and also, The electric fans don't pull enough air for cooling the truck...especially I would think that would be true seeing that your in TX.

Electric cooling

Yes thats true about the electric fans. I have a 14" Hayden fan from Pep Boys and the relay which turns it on when the A/C is on. My truck starts heating up in stop and go traffic but runs fine while driving. I don't know wheather to invest in a 10" fan (70.00) mounted in front of the condencer or to put the clutch fan back on. I hate to throw out the 200 bucks I spent.
