I installed a new starter on Jan 1 this year and has run perfectly until today. It would turn over the motor but not actually start. I moved the battery cables to make sure they were tight and it sparked down at the starter area. Upon closer inspection,a positive wire has come off. Looks like it hooks on the center stud of the solenoid. It has 3 wires connected. The ground is connected to the bottom starter bolt and the small wire is connected to the small stud on the solenoid. I found a nut the fits the stud but it seems that if i put it on the center stud, itll make contact with another cable. My question is, does this make sense? Its a 2002 ranger with a 4.0 engine

There should be two main wires to the starter, the large power cable, and one smaller trigger wire. The terminals are fairly close together, be sure the connectors are attached to gain the most clearance between them.
