Starter issues.

so my starters been on its way out for like two weeks now. tonight it finally got so bad i really had to work it to get started. i was wondering what the year range is for starteres that would fit. mines a 91 and ive heard up to a 97 will fit, but i wanted some input. also, would it be worth just a rebuild? its just having a hard time engaging/ disengaging.

I had used a 97 ranger 4.0 OHV starter on my 92 5spd sport when I had it. Make sure it whether it came from an auto or manual so that it matches yours, I was broke at the time so I went with a junkyard starter. If you can afford it you're better off getting new/rebuilt starter.

yeah same problem her4e I can't afford to dump 100 on a starter. Good to know that others will fit though. I found one on craigslist near me for $60 I think I'm gonna go grab it Monday. I'm gonna try and talk him down to 40. See how that goes I guess. Thanks for the help.
