Starting issue 94 Ranger

I replaced the battery because that was an issue from the start. Then I tested the starter the starter is fine. I'm having an issue where when the clutch is to the floor it still does not want to start. It is an intermittent issue but I'm not sure where to start.

So when it doesn't want to start, what exactly happens, or doesn't happen? Does it turn over but not fire? Does it not even turn over? Just a click? More info will help us...
Also, 4.0, 3.0, or 2.3?
