Starting myself from stock

Hey guys, this is my first post here on the boards so lets hope it doesnt suck!

Ive got a '96 XLT, my very first truck given to me when i was 17 (2 years ago) and I have always wanted to use a SUV/truck for what its built for. So after a LONG time i finally took it out for its first run....and well....i got stuck in some mud Had to call my mom to bring her F-150 down to pull me out.

Now ive been very interested into setting up some light mods to my Explorer. This car is my daily driver and used to be the family car for traveling (did i mention 147,000 miles of it?) I would like to do a few things but im not too knowldgeable about it. Im thinking along the lines of limited slip, a slight 1-2' lift to help me off road on the weekends. I dont want to do all out because this baby does take me to college for the next few years. If anyone could recommend anything to me it would be helpful. I am JUST getting into this but i have always been in love with my 96' XLT

Welcome to the board, there is ALOT of info on here about what you can do to your truck. Look in the photo gallery to get ideas and the Search function is extremely helpful.

Ya I've been here for years and I still spend LOTS of time using it!
