My 01 explorer starts but unless i press on the gas it immediately stalls. It's got about 180,000 miles. Looked over the vacuum hoses and they seem ok. Engine light isn't on. Any ideas?

Most likely an IAC (Idle Air Control) issue. I'd try cleaning
it first before replacing. Very simple to do, and there are
many posts on how to accomplish; basically two bolts to
remove, then spray with cleaner and gently brush carbon
away. I'd also clean the throttle blade at the edges where
it meets with the housing.

Double check your vac hoses. This happened to my old 97 cammer. A hose fell off and intake and it had a massive leak. Plugged the hose back in and problem solved.
