Steering boot

I was look'n at the engine and I noticed that the rubber boot/seal at the bottom on the steering shaft is worn bad. Is this an easy fix?

What other problems could I encounter seeing as though I don't know how long it's been like that?

This is a common problem. Mine's that way too. If I remember correctly, JoshC repaired his at home. You may want to PM him to see what he recommends.
