Steering Column Elect. Probs. (?)

I have a '97 Exp. that suddenly one day the cruise control quit working and the right turn signal makes the flasher chatter when the signal lever is operated fully. The turn signal works fine when using the "lane change" position.
The cuise light would flash for a second at first, but never stay on. Now it does not come on at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The chatter you mention, is it a buzzing sound? If so, it would be the the multi functon switch. You can get them from your ford dealer for around 60 bucks. As for cruise control,it could be related to the mnc but i dont know. I would recommend searching around for that one.

The chatter does it soound almost like gears grinding? My girls explorer has been doing that I guess.....which she told me about a few months after it started....friggin women.

Anyways, I'll be interested to know what the fix is so I can do it to hers as well.
