I've done some searching around the site and have yet to find the answer. Ok so here it is I replaced my shackles because the factory ones were crap, anyway the driver side leaf spring we took completely off took it to a garage and had the bushing burnt out. Then we replaced it and then replaced the passenger side shackle without having to take off the leaf spring, well now my steering wheel is not centered with the front wheels when the front wheels are straight, I said to my dad about it and he said something about its possible that the rear isn't inline with the leafs correctly and is causing the steering to be off but do not see how that is effecting my steering wheel because even if I'm parked the steering wheel is off, it isn't like its pulling to either side of the road so wondering if the rear does have something to do with it or if its completely different. I've done this to the 95 XLT explorer. Thanks for any insight on this matter.

Nothing you would have done to the rear suspension would make your steering off.

Thats what I thought, but he said that usually on leafs there is a pin that you use as reference to line the rear up with the leaf when remounting and can cause the steering to be off. After we had put the driver side together we took it through an alley way that was full of pot holes and have drove through there before with no problems, I eliminated the possibility of it becoming mis aligned because it doesn't pull in either direction. Didn't know whether to take the air bag off and put the steering wheel in the correct position or look into it more of why it is the way it is.

Sounds like an unrelated alignment issue to me. Take it in and get it aligned.
