The problem I'm having now is my steering shaft is rattling when I go over slightly rough terrain. It used to be that the only time it would happen is when I would be going uphill and over some rough pavement (new shocks made it less of a problem on hills). On flat yet rough pavement, it wouldn't happen. Since I got my RA bushings replaced last week and things are tighter up front, the steering shaft rattles much more frequently. Now it does it on hills as well as flat pavement. It's really annoying.

A couple questions. Does anyone else have this problem? How can I fix it?

Have you had the ball joints looked at or replaced? That caused a front end cluck to quit for me. mine were worn at 85,000 miles

I had a similar problem. I had the radius arm bushings, ball joints and shocks replaced. Next the steering wheel would rattle when I hit a bump. Quick fix for me-I unscrewed the steering wheel cover, where the horn and cruise control buttons are, there is a heavy piece of metal attached to the wheel with a rubber mount. On of the mounting points had broken off and the thing was kind of dangling by the other two. Got some chicken wire and tightened it up. Rattle was gone.

1/2 hours time and $0.00 in parts. Unless you consider the cost of my parents chicken wire.

Thanks MyExp. I'll give that a try.

That did the trick. Pretty easy fix and no more annoying rattle.
